Travel coaching & inspiration for women over fifty

About

Hello beautiful souls

Welcome to my travel blog! I’m so glad you’re here. Let me introduce myself. I’m Anglita, a passionate traveler, writer, and advocate for helping others explore the world.

At the age of 58, with over 30 years of experience as a journalist and project coordinator, I found myself at a crossroads. Last year, I was laid off from my job, and it was a turning point in my life. Instead of letting it bring me down, I decided to embrace this opportunity to pursue my true passions: travel, writing, and making a positive impact on others.

As a single mother, I understand the challenges and responsibilities that come with juggling work, family, and personal dreams. But I also know the importance of taking time for ourselves and following our passions. That’s why I created this blog—to share my experiences, insights, and tips to help others overcome their fears and embark on their own travel adventures.

Speaking of fears, I must admit that I too had reservations about traveling solo internationally. The thought of getting lost, language barriers, and my safety weighed heavily on my mind. But I didn’t let those fears hold me back. In fact, I’ve traveled to 26 states alone, and recently, I planned my first trip to Europe. It was a transformative experience that pushed me out of my comfort zone and showed me just how capable and resilient I am.

I worried if my body could handle the physical demands of traveling. I am healthy, but I had knee surgery, which makes walking long distances a bit of a challenge. How much walking could I endure? Would I be up to the challenge? These were valid questions, but I quickly learned that with proper planning, pacing myself, and listening to my body, I could explore new destinations without pushing myself too hard.

Another worry that plagued me was staying on a budget. I wanted to make the most of my travel experiences without breaking the bank. Through trial and error, I discovered various strategies to stretch my money, find affordable accommodations, and make smart choices when it came to meals and activities. I’ll be sharing these tips with you, so you can travel without worrying about your finances.

But perhaps the biggest hurdle I faced was the guilt I felt about spending time and money on myself. As a mother and caretaker, it’s natural to put others’ needs before our own. However, I realized that taking care of myself and pursuing my passions was not selfish – it was necessary for my own well-being and personal growth. I want to inspire you to let go of that guilt and embrace the joy and fulfillment that come from investing in yourself.

Through my blog, I aim to create a supportive and inclusive community where we can share our travel stories, exchange advice, and uplift one another. Together, we can conquer our fears, explore new horizons, and make lasting memories.

So, whether you’re a seasoned traveler or someone who’s just starting to dip their toes into the world of travel, I invite you to join me on this exciting journey. Let’s navigate the world together, one destination at a time. Remember, adventure awaits, and I’m here to guide and support you. I will be your cheerleader!

Safe travels and happy exploring!
